Sara Higgins, Katlyn Straub, Julie Brezicha
SARA HIGGINS has over 15 years of experience in the nonprofit sector – including as an executive director – with a focus on planning, building infrastructure, program and project management, community outreach, advocacy, and fundraising. She has grown a fledgling community organization from $250,000 in revenue to $1 million in under eight years. Recently, she has delivered successful management and advancement of policy issues at the state and federal level. Sara’s ability to ask clarifying questions that cautiously but firmly delve deep into organizational challenges repeatedly helps clients uncover obstacles to success. In addition to regular work with nonprofit and governmental boards and committees, Sara has served as a board and committee member for organizations ranging in size and budget. She also has experience in the broadcasting industry and stage management. Sara was a Marshall Memorial Fellowship finalist and she earned her BA in Liberal Studies from Seattle University (Magna Cum Laude).
KATLYN STRAUB brings diverse experience in strategic communications, community building, lobbying, grassroots organizing and government relations; development and crowdfunding campaigns; event-planning, multicultural conflict resolution, social media campaigns, and public speaking. Living and working in D.C. instilled in Katlyn a passion of helping nonprofits advance their missions through strategic advocacy, executed specifically through the mediums of communications and events. She helped a community nonprofit organization strategically rewrite its downtown economic revitalization plan and intentionally address historic preservation issues. From serving as a non-profit executive director, to planning large scale events in D.C., and also working in both alumni relations and development capacities for her alma mater, her career track evidences a diverse repertoire of skills.
JULIE BREZICHA has worked with both nonprofits and for-profits from Manhattan, NY to rural mountain towns. Attending the College of Wooster in Ohio, she received her B.A. in Urban Studies. Julie has filled various roles through her career mastering the ability to wear multiple hats. Julie has developed custom, multi-day adventure trips for teenagers, including full management of diverse staff teams, logistics and programming. Colleagues and clients describe her as a leader who seeks solutions in the client’s best interest. She thrives on helping clients, vendors, and members develop strategic and sustainable ways to achieve their goals.
